OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Toward the beginning of your child’s one-on-one sessions, our therapist will define therapy objectives with you and your child. Your child’s specialist will tailor the exercises to meet these specific objectives. We may also propose exercises and activities to work on at home during the week to help your child practice and incorporate their learnings into their day-to-day life.

A child’s functioning may be affected due to issues in physical, cognitive, psychological and/or social factors. Occupational Therapy for kids uses various methods to ascertain the cause of the child’s functioning difficulties, and to plan an Individualized Therapy Program (IEP) for each child.

The aim of Occupational Therapy for children is to make the child as functionally independent as possible. We start by drawing up an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) for each child based on the assessment.

Towards the beginning of one-on-one sessions, our therapist will define therapy objectives with you and your child. Intervention sessions will include – developing optimum skills to help the child participate in daily home activities, at school and in social situations. We also suggest  exercises and activities to be done at home during the week to help your child practice and incorporate their learnings into their day-to-day life.

Intervention sessions will include – developing optimum skills, improving existing abilities to participate in daily home activities, at school and in social situations. We may also propose exercises and activities to be done at home during the week to help your child practice and incorporate their learnings into their day-to-day life. Occupational Therapy for children is different for each child, as will the duration of therapy.

Each IEP is based on our assessment of your child’s developmental stage and proficiency rather than their school grade. This ensures we build a strong foundation for your child.

Play

Play has an important role in a child’s development of abilities that are needed at home, at school and during play. Occupational Therapy for kids uses play as a medium through which therapy is imparted. Therapy is usually in the form of various activities which the child enjoys. Each child’s requirement and duration of therapy will vary depending on the child’s needs.

Our therapists use play to explore and adapt activities throughout their day. This helps the child in succeeding in all domains of life. Our experts will establish the core strengths of your child and the areas where improvement is necessary.
